Products and Descriptions

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that all product descriptions, images, and condition ratings are accurate.

New books are sold as new unless otherwise stated.
Second-hand books are sold with condition ratings. Minor wear consistent with the stated condition is not considered damage.

We do not guarantee that colours, images, or product details displayed on your device will be perfectly accurate due to variations in screens and settings.

Pricing and Payment

All prices are shown in the applicable currency and include VAT where required by law, unless stated otherwise.
Prices and availability are subject to change at any time without notice.
Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase using the payment methods available at checkout.

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order, including where pricing or listing errors have occurred.

Orders and Acceptance

An order confirmation does not guarantee acceptance of your order. A contract is formed only when we dispatch your item.

We reserve the right to:

Limit quantities purchased per order or per customer
Refuse service to anyone for legitimate reasons

Delivery

We dispatch orders using Royal Mail.
Estimated delivery times are provided for guidance only and are not guaranteed.
Island of Books is not responsible for delays caused by postal services, customs, or events beyond our reasonable control.

For non-delivery claims, customers will be referred to Royal Mail’s tracking and investigation process before any refund is considered.

Returns and Refunds

Returns and refunds are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

In summary:

Refunds are offered for damaged new books or second-hand books damaged beyond our “GOOD” condition rating.
Issues must be reported within 30 days of the expected delivery date.
Approved returns must be sent back within 14 days of confirmation.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
